DONATE YOUR STIMULUS CHECK OR ANY AMOUNT
TO LOCAL FAMILIES IN NEED!
In response to COVID-19, Allies for Immigration Justice invites you to join us in supporting local communities in need by donating as much of your stimulus check as you can to The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County’s Disaster Support Fund.
The Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County is working to support local vulnerable populations affected by the COVID-19 outbreak through its Disaster Support Fund. Grants are being awarded to local organizations providing direct support to the homeless, victims and families of domestic abuse and low-income community members throughout the county.
A coalition of local organizations have come together as SLO County UndocuSupport to collaborate on this fundraising effort in order to support local immigrant families. The immigrants who live and work in this county are among those who have been hardest hit by the economic impacts of COVID-19. The national $2 trillion relief package for COVID 19 left out undocumented immigrants. And although Governor Newsom announced in April that the state is providing some funds for relief, it will not be nearly enough.
Through the Disaster Support Fund, $10,000 has already been awarded in grants to support immigrant families, and another $9,000 has been raised through individual donors!
With your help, we will begin to get much-needed funds into the hands of the vulnerable communities in SLO County, including immigrant families!
The need is massive and urgent. So we are asking:
Those who can, please contribute your entire stimulus check or equivalent!
We also encourage people who earned above the threshold for receiving stimulus checks to contribute in a similarly meaningful way (around $1,200).
If you are not in a position to donate the equivalent of your entire check, smaller donations are more than welcome! Every donation helps!
AND….great news! In an effort to maximize the impact of donations, the Foundation is waiving all administrative fees associated with the fund!
Help us meet the essential needs of our most vulnerable neighbors!
IMPORTANT: Please!!! Write “SLO County UndocuSupport” on the donation form in answer to the question, “How did you hear about The Community Foundation?” This is how the Foundation will track the funds going to help immigrant communities and how they will track the community commitment to this important issue. THANK YOU!
Please help us mobilize a surge of support by sharing this message with others!
