Santa Barbara Immigrant Legal Defense Center

SBILDC promotes equal access to justice and due process by providing pro bono legal services to immigrants who lack the financial resources to hire a lawyer.  Areas of focus include:

  • Focus on Unaccompanied Children

  • Community Education: Know Your Rights Trainings

  • Community Clinics

Immigration Legal Work Authorized by the U.S. Department of Justice

IMPORTA offers a full range of services to local immigrants without charge. Their services include but are not limited to:

 

  • Deportation Defense 

  • Victims of Domestic Violence and Serious Crimes: U Visas and VAWA 

  • Asylum and SIJS (For Abandoned, Neglected or Abused Children): 

  • LGBTQ Applications: 

  • DACA

  • Citizenship

  • Family Petitions 

CCC-USS supports the undocumented students at Cuesta, Cal Poly, and Allan Hancock and their family members. 

 

Services include:​

  • DACA 

  • Citizenship

  • Family Petitions

  • Adjustment of Status

  • Online "Family Safety Guide for Immigrants" is a tool that assists loved ones to be prepared in case of detainment.

Unitarian Universalists San Luis Obispo (UUSLO) is partnering with Unitarian Universalist Refugee and Immigrant Services and Education (UURISE) to bring a selection of no-cost immigration services to SLO County. 


​​​Services include:

  • General immigration legal consultations

  • DACA renewals

  • Naturalization

  • Green card renewals

  • FOIA

  • Emergency Safety Planning for Immigrants

 

Services are provided by qualified immigration attorneys and DOJ -certified representatives in partnership with UURISE.

 

 

 

Note: 

  • NOT for representation in court

  • NOT for asylum or removal cancellation

      For these services, we will refer you to local immigration attorneys who do this important work.
